Regenerative Basic Income (RBI)
The income that grows with your ecosystem
At Alternun, we believe that caring for and regenerating the planet should not be an isolated act or an economic sacrifice. That's why we created Regenerative Basic Income (RBI): passive income born directly from regenerative activities happening within the ecosystem.
RBI is not a future promise or external subsidy. It's a natural consequence of actively participating in Alternun.
What is RBI?
Regenerative Basic Income is periodic income distributed among Alternun users who contribute to the ecosystem.
It doesn't depend on how much money you have, but on your participation, commitment, and impact, measured through your AIRS score.
Every time Alternun facilitates a compensation, a sale from the compensation pool, or any economic activity within the platform, a portion of that value goes directly to the RBI fund.
In other words: when the ecosystem grows and is used, the RBI grows with it.
How is RBI financed?
The RBI fund is fed by several sources within the system:
- A portion of the premium generated in compensations made through Alternun
- Income from the fractional sale of compensation tokens from the compensation pool
- Infrastructure fees and specific actions within the platform
- Extraordinary contributions from foundations, strategic partners, or special ecosystem incentives
This design makes RBI variable and dynamic. Some months will have higher income—from campaigns, partnerships, or subsidies—and others will be quieter. Everything is visible and transparent to the community.
How and when is RBI paid?
RBI is paid monthly, in ATN, Alternun ecosystem tokens.
At the close of each monthly cycle, the system calculates:
- The total funds available in the RBI Pool
- The total active AIRS belonging to eligible users
- A rate: how many ATN correspond to each AIRS point
Each user can then claim their proportional share, based exclusively on their accumulated AIRS.
There are no lotteries, no discretionary decisions, no favoritism.
The calculation is mathematical, auditable, and fair.
Who can receive RBI?
To participate in RBI, you must meet simple and clear rules:
- Have an active AIRS account
- Maintain minimum participation in the ecosystem, which may include:
- Having accumulated AIRS
- Maintaining minimum ATN staking during the period
- Complying with current cycle eligibility rules
RBI is not paid to inactive or speculative accounts. It's designed to reward those who build, sustain, and use the ecosystem.
Why is RBI different?
Unlike other "passive income" models, Alternun's RBI:
- Does not depend on artificial token inflation
- Does not require fixed return promises
- Is not based on debt or unrealistic expectations
RBI exists because there is real activity: real compensations, real projects, real impact.
Your income doesn't come from someone else's loss, but from the ecosystem functioning well.
Income that reflects commitment
RBI does not replace work or promise instant wealth.
It's something deeper: economic recognition of sustained commitment to regeneration.
- More participation = higher AIRS
- Higher AIRS = greater RBI participation
- At Alternun, regenerating also generates value for you
